EPMA Cameca SX100

The new EPMA is located at the ENSCL. It is the only instrument of its kind North of Paris.

The new EPMA is a Cameca model SX100. It has 3 vertical wavelength dispersive spectrometers (WDS) with PC1, PC2, PC3, LLiF, LPET and TAP crystals, and 1 horizontal WDS spectrometer with LiF, PET, TAP and PC2 crystals. It allows the detection of any chemical elements from beryllium to uranium, with possible X-ray mappings. Due to its resolution and sensibility, the capabilities of the EPMA are complementary to those of scanning electron microscopes.
